Enjoy pickup from your Victoria Falls hotels then head to the waterfront of the vibrant Zambezi River where your vessel for the evening awaits. The tour begins with a friendly greeting from the staff and a welcome drink as well as freshly prepared canapés. The cruise then sets sails upstream along the mighty Zambezi River, the fourth-longest river in Africa. From the boat, admire the array of wildlife that flourishes along the river and watch out for elephants bathing on the riverbanks, crocodiles lazing on the water, and hippos submerging here and there. As the sun begins to set, watch as the surrounding landscape is transformed by the colors of the sky, and soak up the incredible atmosphere of the river. Next, head back towards the imposing Victoria Falls and see its spray in the distance. After 2 hours of sailing and an unforgettable sunset, arrive back at the waterfront for transfer to your hotel. * Exclusions Parks River Usage Fee which is currently US$10.00/person.
Explore the vast genuine wilderness of the Zambezi National Park. This tour takes place in the early morning or mid-afternoon. Using an open four-wheel-drive vehicle, the game drive allows the guests to discover many interpretations of the bush and all its inhabitants, related to them by our suitable trained and qualified guides. This is an uncontrived bush experience, covering a genuinely wild, unfenced wilderness area. Please note that the Zambezi National Park is only a five-minute drive from Victoria Falls town, so there are no lengthy transfers involved. The morning safari starts at 6:00 am and a light breakfast, tea/coffee, and mineral waters are served. The afternoon safari departs at 2 pm and soft drinks, beer, mineral waters, and a snack platter are offered. Our game lasts between three and four hours.
Walking through the calming rainforest is inexplicable. It is a personal experience connecting one to our beautiful gem, The Mighty Victoria Falls. Having one of our guides accompany you and travel the path with you only adds to the richness. Our guides know the facts, histories, and myths associated with the world’s wonder. The guides provide a peak into the tales behind the proverbial curtain of the falls, and we marvel at being a part of this honour.
Victoria Falls is a mile long curtain of water that stretches across the glistening basalt rock, erupts into spray, and then thunders into the canyons below. The walls of basalt rock that capture the mighty Zambezi forms one of the great river corridors of the world. This is the domain of the Nyaminyami, the River God of the Tonga people and is the ‘highway’ for our rafts. All guests will be collected from their respective hotels and taken to Khanondo Town Office for their briefing. We provide a safekeeping facility at check-in, where valuables can be left at your own risk. Clients are given the option between an “oar boat” and a “paddle boat”.
The park is close to the edge of the Kalahari desert, a region with little water and very sparse, xerophile vegetation. The Kalahari woodland is dominated by Zambezi Teak, Sand Camwood (Baphia) and Kalahari bauhinia. Seasonal wetlands form grasslands in this area.
